dude, I don't understand what you typed, but by checking the link, I get what you mean. To me, the lowersace 'n' and the numeral '1' was obviously a perfect fit, so i tried it. it was the candle's flame that sold it for me. I didn,t even know that logo existed, but I was pretty sure I wasn't the only one to try to fit it together.

mate, thanks for the comment and for pointing it out.

cheers,

PS. that horse has already bolted, so I WILL use the design again...

Thats a nice effect on the top! Is this a photo or your creation?

No, it's from stockxchange. It looks good, probably because it's not my creation!

thanks for the critique.
firstly, I am a pre-press artist at a print shop, so yeah, I do know a thing or two about print-ready artwork.
Keeping in mind that you are only viewing a lo-res gif file, and not the A3 print-ready version I uploaded, the text may appear close to the trims, but in reality it's 5mm in from the edge(about a 1/4 inch I think), will 3mm of bleed all round. This is plenty of room - we used a minimum of 2mm at work, and our guillotine operator has no problems.
As for problems with CMYK plates (assuming this is screenprinted or offset printed, and not digitally which uses no films or plates), I have produced plenty of posters, brochures and cards with text much finer than this example, and I've never had a problem.
As for sign offs, well, that's not really my problem, is it? The client will choose their favorite "as is" and w1k will pass it on. I'm sure the mods can tell the diffence between professionally set-up artwork and an RGB jpeg at 72ppi.

What you say is true though - I think we've all had our fair share of %$#! ups :-D

cheers

-Aus
