I remember scoring you highly. Do I have to compete to be a "Worthian?" I am just a fan of all of yours; an honest, positive and fair critic; and generally in a perpetual state of wonder and amazement. Thank you all who compete, pronged or no.

Anybody who takes any time to contribute anything positive and/or critical in my mind is a fellow worthian. Even if it is as simple as just voting in a positive manor.

As soon as I saw this entry I knew right away that it was going to be my toughest competition. I really love how this came together so well. It truely looks like a VanGogh painting. The only guess that I have as to why it didnt actually beat mine is the fact that you essentially created an entirely new painting when the rules were just to modify an existing one. Personally I love what you came up with, but that could be a reason why you didnt score close to as high as I thought you would. Way to go man, Congrats on the silver.

PS: I replied to your post on my image answering your question. If you have any others, feel free to ask.

Woo-Hoo is right HH!!! I can't believe this actually happened, it is a really great feeling getting this much support from my fav people, my fellow worthians. Thanks for all the comments and votes everyone, the only problem now is I feel so much pressure to try and keep this streak going.

Congrats on a very well deserved gold (again!). I'm very impressed by how you did the hat and the fur lining. Any chance on sharing how you created the fur?

Thanks for the comment and of course I don't mind sharing. Ironnically my process for this image was very similar as little mini tut I posted in this thread. All I did was come adjust the color of the hat to exactly the hues that I thought worked in this paniting, then I just selected a portion of the painting with a lot of texture and coppied and pasted it over the hat, masked it to fit the hat, then desaturated it, then overlayed it, then adjusted the layer until I felt it looked right. Once the hat was done, the hard part was over. I simply used a flattened version of the white part of the final hat and created all the trim from that. And that was it. That was actually the easy part. The hard part was turning that newspaper into a scroll and making it look believeable. Hopes that helps. Thank again everyone!

wow! Nice one. I really like santa, and adding antlers was a nice touch. I just wish the horses were a little more reindeer like.

Nice attempt for your first time. You might want to consider using a bigger source though in the future. I have seen in the past it is much harder to do well using small sources.

WOW! I have seen this painting used a bunch, in fact, I have used it myself, but this is one of the most unique things I have ever seen done to it. I really love it. The colors are so vibrant and the lighting on the girl in the corner is really nice. I probably woulda left the lens flare out though, its not very "painting" like.

Interesting idea, but what is up with that graded gray background? I am not too sure it fits in too well, and all it really does is make your work harder to see without viewing full. I like the idea though. I think maybe if you made him a little fatter it would be really funny and might really sell it.

Absolutely love this one. The emotions are perfect. The only thing, and I am sure I am not the first to say it, its really dark. I think if it were a bit darker and easier to see all the details this could easily be the winner.

Really nice work. Although, the depth of field is kinda weird seeing as how its supposed to be a painting and all. I still like it, its one of the better entries.

Now this is quite an original idea. I really like this one alot. Just curious, did you try it with green instead of blue? That might really sell it as a "Holiday Painting".

Its so easy to say, "sheesh, we see this painting soooooooooo much." But unfortunately, I am guilty of using it myself. Nice work though, the hats are blended in very well.

This is def one of my favs of the whole contest. I think you captured his style absolutely perfectly. The idea to blend all those paintings and other elements, in my opinion, is brilliant. I love how it all comes together.
