i like the idea behind this, however the details in the bulb need to be in ultra sharp focus. unfortunately, they're a little mushy

a few things bother me here. the corner of the table in the background, and the tilt to the fluid. i also feel the entire thing could've been made more vibrant. it's a little drab as it stands. perhaps even going for a blue colourisation? a nice attempt, which with a little more attention to detail would've worked well.

lovely lighting. the blown highlights doesn't bother me too much, however using a white card reflector somewhere to the left would've given you a bit more control over te highlights and provided a bit of fill light to just lighten the dark areas a small amount.

a nice idea and composition, but a little dark perhaps?

i think the bullseye needed to be in sharp focus, especially as it's the title for the image. it's just a litle on the soft side. ditto the other darts.
can't make my mind up over the perspective border, however the thin outer black line needs a bit of attention

neat! cropping a little from the left and twisting the bowl so it was face on to the camera (it looks like it's turned by about 5-10 deg) would probably help

nice image! not sure the inclusion of the plastic mushroom container was the best choice though

nice job, but i'm finding the lighting just a little too harsh. i also think the addition of a border of some sort should have been considered

great use of lighting and well controlled exposure. nice simple complimentary border. top job!

this is pretty cool, but the detail just isn't sharp enough. the DOF has nicely blurred the plate, but it's too shallow to have got all of the fork / spaghetti & string in sharp focus

love the lighting and contrast in this. not crazy about the crinkles in the backdrop though. this really does need a silky smoothe background and could probably have done with a bolder border

a nice idea, but a little too subtle. unfortunately it does require your spolier to know what the odd man out is.

this is a great idea, but i feel it would work a lot better with clear light bulbs and a border of some description would help it along as well.

thanks all.

the guy that does this is awesome. chanced upon him one evening then set a few shoots up. his bike control is just unreal. he didn't just leap the gap, he planted the rear tyre on that rail, balanced for a second or 2 then dropped to the deck. a later shot had him dropping the 8ft from the top of a phone box straight onto the pavement.

it's not a fisheye effect, but a fisheye attachment for the 18-55 canon kit lens. at the wide end you get 170deg field of view - hence the round image.
this is one of the lamer photos from the shoot and didn't even make it past the initial look-see. :-s

the hardest part was choosing the font. had to be something complimentary and then the layout had to suit. i'll be honest and say that i was pleased with the way the text etc worked out as the first few attempts were pretty poor.

oh, and no, he's not in socks!

hmmm, thought i'd commented on this before. ahhh well.

to be perfectly honest, this just looks like a snapshot of a discarded bike. that'd be fine if the comp were "snapshots of discarded bikes" ;-) but you need to ask yourself...."what would i think if i saw this image in a calendar i'd paid good money for?"
as for improving it - find a different subject to photograph -or- concentrate on an abstract close up

good choice of border and sepia colouring. i like the low key look. it's a shame the reflection shows folds in the background material (bottom edge of photo). i'd try cropping this a lot higher up the image, putting the horizon on the lower 3rd OR adding more to the bottom so that we see a total mirror reflection. nice job with the lighting.

excellent job! flatter lighting and a very slight softening of the focus would make this indistinguishable from the real thing

top job! a shot from close to the equator. my only observation is that the 'water' would be totally smooth and ripple free with such a long exposure

i'm curious how you managed to get the green colouration without using selective manipulation / masking.

nice pin sharp bike and good composition. not sure the leaves on the trees say november though. i think you'd have been better of moving NOVEMBER to where 2006 is and dropping the year entirely. as it stands, the month is lost amongst the image

i like this shot, but it was just begging for an olde worlde bike to fit the 1930's scene (ok, and cloning the wires out!). the shallow-ish DOF appears to have excluded the bike as it is *slightly* blurred
