The flash seems to have pulled it a bit off cover, perhaps a bit of color balance correction would have done the trick. "Crop only" is not really a good sign, traditional film photos were always corrected for color and correction must be made for the color of the illumination....our eyes do this all the time ;-)

The orange looks great but the blue background is perhaps not a good match.

Careful with the focus on close up shots.

Lovely sunset but the powerlines distract a bit.

Nice backlighting, but you do need to be carefull with the focus when you get up close.

A bit of work on the levels control may have improved the shot.

These shots look so decpetivly simple to take, but I've tried and I know how difficult (and frustrating) it can be.

I like the way you have used a high angle, but perhaps if it where full square on it would be more dramatic.

I like the composition, but condensation on a jam jar does not seem quite right, and perhaps there is too much contrast.

The manufacturers name is derived from "echo" (allthougth as the origin is first greek, then latin, then english, Eko is closer to the original word for echo). I thought it fitted in nicely to the caption.

Lovely shot, although the bluriness does tend to "moderate" the corrosion. A slight tilt to the left might make it more dramatic.

Wow, it's just peeling paint on rust and yet there is contrast between the textures that makes it great.

I Love the way rust can color otherwise boring grey concrete.

Great shot, but not easy because it is not perfectly symmetrical. Perhaps a wee rotation to the left would have helped.

Great joice of subject, but when you go in this close it helps to use macro focussing.

This would have benefitted greatly from the use of an "unsharp mask". Also, it is a good idea to put a 2 pixel black border around white/light shots (this is the only border allowed by competiotion rules).

Nice color combination, but elaboration in software to get the right contrast would make it much more vivid.

This is brilliant! I can feel the squidgy socks on my feet and the cold wet heavy jeans against my shins.

Pity about the rain. Perhaps a smaller crop with just the right side and missing out the lake and the a bit at the top so avoid the rain?
