OK, hint for getting a perfect circle around the ball. First you turn your rulers on, and drag one guide to the top of the ball, and the other guide to the left side of the ball.Then you select the elliptical marquee and hold down shift, and click from where the two guides meet, until the marquee has selected the whole circle, and then copy and paste.
