The beetle on the bottom is actually a second beetle and is captured in the original source photo. One of these beetles is attempting to "jack" (hehe - get it?) the other's dung ball, er, uh, jack-o-lantern...I believe only one beetle makes off with their dung ball - naturally. Perhaps not? I'd like to believe the lower one is the other's brother and they're working as a team rolling it back to their workshop to then run it through a slicer to make sheets of wood so they can continue building their awesome underground fortresses. The dung is the perfect sub-straight for bio lumen bacteria to grow...The beetles gather this bacteria into "bulbs" to light their structures so that they can see down there. Ok, I made that last part up. Don't believe that.

I agree it's a little boring. I had ideas to incorporate an opposing army on the ground and air but just ran out of time.

It's really difficult to read that as "water" even when viewing the full image. In addition this is the first I've heard this term "water closet"...Had to look that up. Doesn't seem to be a common expression of language...at least not in California where I'm from.

Duplicating the same exact thumb makes this image feel rushed and unnatural. Should have used a unique thumb for each "plant". Kudos for keeping it perfectly literal though!

I guessed it even though you positioned the butterflys in the intestinal/reproduction area of the body. They should be located above the hips.
