It looks as though the images you added were of lower resolution than the provided themepost, making them stand out more than they should. Try to use higher resolution sources in the future and your results will be better.

Wonderful idea - would probably be a little better if the arms and hands were furry like mice. But it's still a great idea and very well-executed. And you gave me a mighty good chuckle at the mice musicians. :)

Yes this is the themepost for the TG contest, but it was never submitted for competition. I've already enquired with a juror and it's perfectly legit to enter it in a contest.
