This is a lubber, a flightless grasshopper. He crawled on the cap while it was lying on the ground. We decided to give him a "bird's eye view" of his world, since he can't get it on his own. We think he enjoyed his ride.
I didn't think much of this shot when I took it (cropped the wing) but I was stunned by the amount of pollen all over the bee when I later saw it on the PC.View full for details...
