The center is represented by the pen, depicting journalism. Media produced by the citizenry for the citizenry is shown through the pen writing around itself. The hilt of the pen, shows indistinctly the initials of the center (CCM), and is more evident in variants of the logo.
What better way to represent free speech, citizen participation in media production and distribution than through a set of talking balloons. Striking and provoking propaganda.
This is an effort to combine the organic growth of a nurtured plant with established formality of traditional lettering. The hope is that it comes across official and at the same time approachable.
The two interconnected C's represent communication and cooperation.
