I really had to Dig Deep to come up with something original for this comp ;)No trees were harmed in the making of this shot, mother nature did the cutting for me.
A nautilus shell, sliced in half, photographed in incandescent light and then the entire photograph was 'inverted' in Photoshop - within the usual Worth contest rules.I liked the 'photographic' message of this picture - spirals and the Golden Mean - the geometry of nature's art! :)What's interesting about these shells is that the 'ratio' of the length to width of each of the chambers is exactly the same - no matter how small or large a chamber may be!Hey! who you calling a nerd! :DPlease enjoy in Full View! Thanks!
The inside of a piece of petrified (fossilized) shell, cut with a diamond saw and polished to a smooth finish.Only cropping and levels adjusted slightly in Photoshop - all the colors are natural, created by minerals replacing the original soft tissue and shell of the ancient creature.
My monitor is being temperamental. I only opened it up to have a look and now it won't work.
This is some serious high key, high tech stuff.
Well, I snapped it rather than cut through it - hope that counts :PVery sharp in full view ;)
