1624 AD - It had been several weeks since the spanish fleet left Vera Cruz, laden with riches from the new world. Months later, word reached King Philip IV that the fleet had been lost in a typhoon. There was only one survivor... an aging deck hand. He had been pulled from the sea nearly a week later, badly burned and half out of his mind. In between bouts of unconsciousness, he told tales of fire from the heavens and enormous creatures rising from the depths with cannon the likes of which he'd never seen.
