This water drop reminds me of a lava lamp, hence the name of the photo.
The very shallow depth of field makes the feathers at the back look like some kind of fire, which I enhanced with a touch of levels and hue/sat.
I had thought I missed him until I opened the pic in photoshop.I hate to say it, but please view full- The Jpeg artifacts are killing the soft background and the color.
Tap water lit by pink and blue. I was striving for abstraction and composition in this image. Please view full for intricate color variations.
I thought he was dead - but when I was finished taking photos, he flew away and scared me to death. It was quite a big one too! (about 5cm!)
