I cut out a shape with the same dimensions as the glass, from orange card. This shape I attached to a blue sheet of card. (Please also note that this orange shape was attached upside down.) When the glass of clear water was placed close to the orange shape it looked upside down and thus the same shape as the glass. The lines that can be seen on the orange shape come from the texture on the orange card being distorted.Reduced noise with full view. ;)

Looked at the colour wheel description and tried to find something that had a bit of each of the overall contrasts.Took about 30 pictures each with a white reflector underneath too.
