Floating so gently o'er yon frozen lake,
I watch them flitting and flick'ring away.
Beauty so rare it seems wrong to partake
in this Dance of the Night, Song of the Day.

One with the heavens and one with the earth,
born of the purest of nature's refrains,
tiny in stature, but mighty in worth,
joined all-together, no weakness remains.

Singing like angels and shining like stars,
dancing with flowers and hiding in trees,
laughing like children, no innocence barred --
no greater joy can be found than in these.

Trailing their happiness all through the sky,
they seem to see me, and whisper ...
"Goodbye!"

The man behind the bottle
mixes liquor with his sin,
and releases hollow sorrows -
with a starting round of gin.
As the girl behind the counter
complies with all his whims;
measuring misery by shot -
to poison from within.

And the man who sloshes moonshine
does reek of certain regret -
as he reflects on better moments,
which he would be much obliged to forget.
But the girl who serves the venom
knows his sadness is but set -
for the truly broken hearted,
cannot drown love with something wet.

Dear Anne Boleyn and Mary, Queen of Scots,
Please share with me a few of your thoughts
As you sat in the tower, patiently waiting
For your public decapitating?
Were there hopes of reprieve,
With no ace up your sleeve?
Could you hear the crowd gather
In the square, in a lather
To see royal blood
Run the streets with the mud?
I know I’m not headed
For the true fate you dreaded.
There will be no big chop
And my head will not drop.
My circumstance is unlike
My head put on a spike
Displayed as a warning
That one should be conforming
To the change of King’s law or a half-sister’s fears
That if you stayed around you would so interfere
With the King’s latest love or sister’s suspicions
And if you were gone, there’d be no more derisions.

In this world of light
coming from giant screens,
where people with chrome hearts
smile around the streets,
ride their metal monsters
that drink oil and breathe smoke,
and smile, laugh, scream,
cry, yell, and flutter,
and all the while
look at the big colorful screens
with empty eyes;
in this world where
the sky is not blue,
and ads pop up at any corner
life dies out
against the rough metal,
eye cannot see the grey,
nose cannot smell the blood,
feelings recede,
and I ask myself:

Why am I here?
Where is the little goat path
that will take me home
where I could lie down
on wet, fresh grass,
listen to the sky full of stars,
and watch the smooth rain
dance on my cheeks?

But, the only answer,
the only sign of life I find
is a dead leaf
floating on the ditch
near the dirty wet asphalt.

Where do you currently reside?

In the back of my head,
reminiscing over the past
thinking endlessly about the future
being everywhere but the present

What is your age?

a giant boulder
that has weighed me down
that put a restriction on all I did
too young
too old
not perfect

Describe your work experience.

Washing dishes on a warm summer night
looking through the window
seeing my mom enjoying herself
with a diet coke in her hand

Have you ever been convicted of a felony?

Yes, I have broken the hearts
of old loves
I have gone on
not thinking about what they felt,
but I have also had my heart broken
many times

I gaze out the window,
at the lush green grass,
and feel the sun's heat on my head.
I hate the nice weather,
when I'm stuck indoors,
with a wardrobe, some dolls and a bed.

I watch her out there,
she's having such fun,
with her friends playing hide and seek.
While I'm all alone,
with Dolly and Ted,
since the sun came out last week.

I rock back and forth,
just for something to do;
this weather will soon run its course.
Until then I'll wait here,
lonely and blue,
what a life for an old rocking horse.

On Tears

For twenty years I was a stranger
A stranger to my tears
Locked safely away inside a life that had no need of them

But they remained within me
Flooding my soul
Until now

Until now, when they streak my face
Burst forth from the anguish within
Is this what it means to be alive?
Is this the price of a heart that feels?

If so, I rejoice in their coming
Marvel at the depth to which I can be touched
Tears of life I gladly shed
Even as the hurts they herald burn inside

But there are other tears
On other faces
Put there by my hand
Put there by my hand

These are the tears whose memory haunts me
That leave a trail etched on my heart
To know that I have put them there
And worse, so much worse, may do so again
Is this the price of a heart that feels?

If so, I damn them
These tears I have caused
That are echoed on my own face

Is there any good worth the price of bringing tears to another?
I think on this
And on the price of a heart that feels
And I have no answer
Only tears

I'm a girly tomboy
an argumentative sweetheart

I'm Manic Depressive
with Obsessive Compulsions

I'm addicted to sex
with NO sex drive

I'm paranoid
and NARCISSISTIC

I'm Dyslexic and Bi-Polar...
...or Polar Bi with Lysdexia
i can't remember

I hate change, but I'm ANXIOUS for it.

I love who I am
when I'm not hating myself

I'm a small town girl living in the Big City.

I hate to be alone, but I hate people more.

I get angry over the mundane,
happy over the unremarkable.

I know I rock, but hate my rolls.

I'm assertive and timid.

I hate to clean
but things must be spotless.

I want to change the world
without ever leaving the couch.

Steady creak of hinges turning,
Silver, dancing light discerning
Can you hear the pages burning?
Can you hear the screams?

Running, hiding, hoping, yearning
Never staying, never learning
To the darkness, souls returning
Is it all a dream?

Here at last, the golden morning,
Precious light the world adorning,
Severance from hateful mourning:
What does all this mean?

(Don't know what to call this. Suggestions welcome. :))

Man, I’m going way too fast.
How long will this fervor last?
In my head ideas are jammin’
With the force of body slammin
My fingers race across the page
Recording thoughts in every stage
Of growth or even maturation
Twinkling with saturation
Of what feels like magic dust,
Sating my creation lust.
