First and foremost, a very BIG thank you to oilcorner for all his invaluable help - I cannot stress enough how great it was to have a fresh pair of knowledgeable eyes looking over my shoulder at this thing.This image started out inspired by the Saint-Saens music - Death playing his fiddle at the stroke of midnight and calling all the skeletons to dance - but ended up a bit closer to the medieval allegory, where Death leads all - young, old, rich, poor, sinner, saint - to the grave. The Demon's squeezebox plays a mornfull tune that has no melody. With every gust of air squeezed through the bellows, a disembodied voice groans one of the victim's mortal sins.
