Is there anybody out there?

Long time fan of Worth and this is my first go at a photoshop pic and first entry here.

I'm here to learn, so please critique, especially on masking and lighting - I need to master these before I try anything too adventurous :).

The inevitable happened. 8 June 2008, in the predawn hours an earthquake measuring approximately 9 on the Richter scale struck San Francisco. By the time in the early afternoon this picture was taken, fires destroyed the cathedral and several skyscrapers were on the brink of collapse.
