"Oh the humanity..." those were the famous words recorded on May 6, 1937. As the 804 foot hydrogen filled Hindenburg zeppelin exploded after crossing the Atlantic and was about to land at Lakehurst Air Station, in New Jersey. This is my interpretation of that day. Of the 97 passengers, 61 survived.SourcesProcessPlease view full for all the paint splattered details. Acrylic (airbrushed) on gessoed posterboard, then scanned for photoshop detail work.
58,000 men died at the battle of the Somme in 1916. 20,000 in one day alone. A record still held to this day.
Not sure if the idea came through clearly on this, but its supposed to be about the irish potato famine.
This was done in Colored Pencils on Black Pastel paper. All hand drawn. No didgital work involved.Sorry that the top inch or so is blurry in full, the paper didnt fit across the whole scanner window and was raised hald a centimeter.I tried my best, and worked very long and hard on this piece. I used only one source:http://www.morguefile.com/archive/?display=130390& The rest was all imagination. =)I hope you all like it, this is my first ever entry to Worth1000, and hopefully not my last! Thanks for looking!*PLEASE VIEW FULL*

"Quest For Fire"'Ogg' wasn't the first caveman to bring fire down from the sky - He was just hoping to be the first one to survive electrocution and take it home to the cave :D
History repeats itself in the sense that the innocent always suffer the most. The image that accompanies virtually every war is a river of refugees forced to leave their homes and flee into the unknown.I used this reference photo (from http://memory.loc.gov) to make a sketch.Afterwards I played with it in Painter and added a building in the background(another reference photo). Please view full.
