This old temple got flooded ages ago. It is said that whoever enters its catacombs will never see the light of day again. There's magical light coming from all directions - you'll wander around constantly thinking you've found the exit until you finally drown in one of the many pits and become food for the rats. Here's the inevitable WIPBoy this was fun!
What is the world coming to when a decent, hard-working Minotaur can't even finish a single cup of tea without some wouldbe hero type bursting through the secret entrance, trying to make a name for themselves?Work in Progress (About 488 Kb)Sources courtesy of Justmeina, Chonastock, Falln-Stock and Marcus Ranum.
Everybody heard about the famous Labyrinth of Crete, a dungeon of inter connecting maze-like tunnels derived from the elaborate floor plan of the Palace of Knossos. The architect of the labyrinth was called Daedalus, a highly respected and talented Athenian artisan descendent from the royal family of Cecrops, the mythical first king of Athens. At the command of Minos, King of Crete, he designed and built this Labyrinth, in which was hidden the Minotaur, a monstrous creature born of the strange love of Pasiphae, the Cretan queen, for a sea-born bull.Indeed, Minos was shamed by the birth of this horrible creature and resolved to imprison the Minotaur in the Labyrinth where it fed on humans, which were taken as "tribute" by Minos and sacrificed to the Minotaur in memory of his fallen son Androgenos.Daedalus revealed the secrets of its construction to Ariadne, daughter of Minos, but she in turn told her lover, Theseus who used the knowledge to slay the Minotaur and escape. But what story doesn’t say a word about is that Daedalus had already revealed the secret to another young girl, Elandria, sentenced to die in the labyrinth by Minos, for having stolen food to survive.Daedalus, touched by her beauty and her purity, secretly gave her a bobbin thread and explained her the way to exit the labyrinth.Daedalus was not the only one to admire her purity. The minotaur followed her in the labyrinth, but never scared her.Thx so much to Solipsism: you make me love Worth1000.And thx to people who make this fantasy contest possible.Thx to Elandria from DeviantArt who allowed me top use her fantastic picture for this contest.SourcesAnimated WIPView full = extra bobbin thread to find the exit :)
