For centuries, fairy tales have painted vivid pictures inside the imaginations of children around the world. Some are beautiful, some are terrifying, and some are a little bit of both. They are purely enchanting and have the power to immerse us in a world unlike anything based in reality.
Using Photoshop or other graphics software, we'd like you to put a surreal spin on a fairytale, as this themepost based on "Alice's Adventures In Wonderland" demonstrates. Create beautiful visual imagery which makes no sense, yet makes perfect sense.
Please note that this is not a "cut-and-paste then add some wacky filters" free-for-all. We expect you to put some real effort into this, just as we do in any other contest. Poor quality entries can (and will) be disqualified.
Have fun, keep it clean, be creative. Don't forget the cliché list. As always, quality is a must. We will remove poor entries no matter how much we like you. You'll have 48 hours for this contest, so make your submission count.
** For those who are unfamiliar with the term "surreal" in relation art, here is an explanation: It is a style in which the work makes no immediate logical sense to the viewer; it is expression of the subconscious mind and often uses contrasting (and seemingly random) elements within the work. It can be absurd, confusing, humorous, or a combination of all three. Famous surrealist artists include Salvador Dali and Rene Magritte.
