Earl and Frank would play checkers every Saturday afternoon. Friends since grade school their friendship was legendary in town. Even today 50 years from their last game as living souls on this Earth laughter and the occasional passing shadow can be seen and heard from the dusty room they once played.
The old piano played on through the night, but no living creature was around to hear it.
Just after I shot this, the newspaper and pipe fell to the ground. I was so scared that I ran out of the house, not knowing that the newspaper had landed on top of the pipe. Moments later the old Thompson estate was engulfed in flames. I guess old man Thompson found a way to take it with him!

For the last two years i have been awoken at first light by the sound of music, but have been unable to trace it.
