The logo depicts a bird with spread wings, a symbol for freedom, adventure, courage, etc. It is angled upwards to indicate progress and innovation. The circle in the background and the red colour indicate a setting sun, thus referring to 'the west'. I've tried to keep it relatively simple and classic.Logo is available in vector format. The font used is Century Schoolbook (CentSchbook BT bold). Website address can be added. The bottom variation(s) can be used as a page header of some sort. Full view is crisper.
This masthead is based on a widely used font called Friz Quadrata, available on PC and Mac platforms. It has been tweaked and modernised for an updated NEWS look and feel. Please note that the final format is not a straight-forward font but a vector based illustration. As shown above the color of the "Western" part of the masthead can be changed to suit the cover of the publication.
This would standout and looks great with many color combinations. It is a vector graphic. Let me know your thoughts.
