Ok i had to do a dragon cos i luv 'em so much. I spent a fortune on different types of wire and ended up getting this proper craft wire which is so easy to work with. I actually really enjoy this wire sculpture thing and i'm gonna keep doing it. I'm gonna try a korean dragon next time with wings.
A Single Length of Wire
This was to have been longer, I was just heading for the mane, but I broke my wire. I'm not sure whether this image is acceptable, since it's a scan and not a photo, but I worked hard on it, and I want people to at least see it, even if I don't resolve my camera issues in time to submit properly. I've never tried making anything like this before. It's inspired by "pictorial scrollwork" calligraphy.
Before everyone leaves 50 comments about it, I know scorpions have 8 legs but not when my wire is running out and the tail needs finishing. This one got in a fight and lost 2 legs;-)
This was really fun, but quite a bird's nest until I got it glued onto the board :). I think full view might be worth it in this case, if you like what you see here.
One wire up and down the stems, in and out of the spirals. There is clay in the base to hold it upright, but the wire is all one length.
Dancing in the rainNo need for an umbrellaOr a raincoatWhen you're dancing between the drops
It was my first try with the wire and at the time the only wire i could get a hold of. Some sort of fence wire, not very bendy at all. It's leg span is 18" long.
