“Pimping”, for those of you just joining us from the 1960s, is a term used to indicate decorating an object, usually in a very ostentatious or tacky way. Most commonly it refers to jewelry or cars – pimping a ride means repainting it, detailing it, adding spoilers and other outrageous accessories.

But not everyone drives, or can even afford a car. What if you just want to pimp the everyday objects you do own? Why not add flame decals to your toaster, or engrave some intricate designs into the cabinet of your television set? I’ll bet your couch would look great with a spoiler!

In this contest, you’re asked to pimp out some common household object. This can include using expensive bling like diamonds and gold, or you can add straightforward paint jobs and accessories like speakers, chromed exhausts or tachometers (as in the themepost by sunr33).
