The stuff you find if you blow things up! I always thought of him as a trollish little packrat, especially in the original.

I caressed the flower. Immediately, my body went numb as bright colors swirled around me. My heart tingled, my hands ached, my senses cleared - I found myself glowing and brimming with energy!

A piranha fish splashed out of the water.

In one giant leap, I was sixteen feet up in the air. I pointed a finger at it.

With my flaming desire for vengeance and my shining remnants of youth, I released a shimmering ball of glorious fire. It struck the damned fish, sending it back into its watery limbo.

Willowy trails of smoke puffed and fizzled behind me.

As my foot landed on Mushroom Kingdom's dread-trodden road, I clenched my fists, looked behind at all the annihilated Piranha Plant corpses, and contemplated my long and complicated quest of finding my beloved princess.

I know everyone but me hated Super Mario 2; however I couldn't help drag out the player selection screen for this contest. I drew it as I saw it when I was a kid. For me, being able to choose a female character was almost as cool as the moment Samus removed her helmet!

I played the heck out of the game and tried to play the princess whenever I could, sometimes to a fault. Play it here (nintendo8.com) for old times sake.
