This is an Bonus level contest
_____________________________________
This week's bonus contest is going to be lots of fun ... we get to play and turn our photographs into fake models and toys. 'Toy Boats' By steph147 is an example of what we're aiming for in this contest.
The way this works is that you take a picture and make it look like a macro image by creating depth of field by blurring certain parts. Playing with curves to create contrasty and bright images helps the illusion of making your items looks like they are fake.
First thing you must do is take a picture. Think about what type of setting would create the best illusion.
Here is a link to a site : Receding Hairline that explains an easy way to go about creating these images, but you can use your own methods, you do not have to follow this tutorial.
Or for those of you with Aviary accounts, check out this tutorial by Meowza on acheiving this effect in Peacock.
The object of this contest is the following: Create an image with your photography that gives the illusion of the setup to be of a fake model or toys. Taking your photo from a higher vantage point than she did would even make it look more fake as you normally would take the picture standing up and looking down. It's all about tricking your mind.
This is a bonus contest and selective editing such as blurring, sharpening and borders will be allowed. You are not allowed to use the background from one image and the foreground of another. All selective editing must be done to one original photograph, but you may use adjustment layers, masking and gradients. You will also be allowed borders, but no text can be added.
Hit List real toys, fake models.
Be aware that you you may be asked to provide the original image that you took, so please make sure you have it available. Any requests for an original that are not provided will be disqualified. You may link to your original photograph if you wish.
