According the the latest figures, there are well over 5.8 million homeless orphans in the former Soviet Union, it is not uncommon for these children to beg people for permission to stay the night in their cars during the colder months.

This picture was taken during the election in Poland in 1994. The poster says: Your city (Twoje miasto), Summer'94 (Lato'94).
