CONTEST DESCRIPTION

In this free contest, your task is to design a logo for Wasatch Development Studios, they provide services for software consulting, specialized in business, web and database application.

The client is a small company located in Provo, Utah. The design will appear on all company branding and marketing materials (i.e. business cards, letterhead, website, banners, etc...).

PRIZES

  • The top entry that the client chooses will receive $217*.

  • The top voting winner will get 100 credits.

CLIENT RULES

  • Logos must contain the words "Wasatch Development Studios". This is cAsE SeNsItIvE.

  • The logo can contain any number of colors.

  • Entries may contain gradients. The client needs a black and white, non-gradient version of your logo.

  • While they are a high-tech company, being a consulting firm, they don't want a flashy logo. They want the logo to be professional looking, the kind you would see on long established companies such as Microsoft or Oracle. Simplicity works better than complexity in logo design.

  • Your logo should represent highly established, highly experienced and highly expensive consultants. It should have a "rich" feel, something that makes a potential client think "wow, these guys look like they're good and worth it". Skills with a flair. One metaphor that the client likes to think of is the new Dodge Charger. When viewed from behind it looks like a professional sedan, but when you get to the front all of a sudden the car has attitude and flair. That's the kind of image they want from the logo. Something that says a very professional company, but has a personal flair of some kind (their clients like to say they're not just coders, they offer a lot more).

  • The client is open to symbol options. The logo could just be the company name, with no icon/symbol associated with it (similar to how law firms logos look).

  • No mountains may be used.

  • You may not display presentations of the logo (i.e. business cards, letterhead examples) directly in the image file that you upload as your entry. You may upload these to your media folder and link to them separately from your author comments. If you violate this rule, you risk disqualification.

  • Any font may be used. Please upload your font to your corporate files area.

  • Before entering this contest you must read this thread.

GENERAL RULES

  • Please upload your vector file (.ai or .eps) or high resolution photoshop files with all layers and elements intact (.psd), to the corporate files attachment area at the time you submit an entry (you will be prompted after uploading your image).

  • Do not enter slight variations of your logo as separate entries. Enter them as a single entry.

  • Fancy background presentation is not allowed. Solid color backgrounds, that's it.

  • Please leave some white space at the bottom of your entry so the worth1000 watermark doesn't overlap it.

  • Any questions about what is desired by the client may be sent to corporate@worth1000.com.

  • The client will be granted the full rights to all aspects of the submission of their choice as a work-for-hire in exchange for the prize mentioned above.
