NOTE: THIS CONTEST GOES FOR A WEEK INSTEAD OF TWO DAYS
It's always interesting and occasionally hilarious to go back and see what people from one hundred years ago thought life would be like in the early 21st century. Apparently we're all supposed to be going to work using either jet packs, flying cars or Futurama-style transport tubes by now according so some predictions from the early 20th century. We're also supposed to be living lives of pure luxury because all of our mundane tasks are now performed by our robot slaves. And for some odd reason they almost always thought we'd all be wearing matching one piece silver jumpsuits ...
Of course, many other people thought that civilization was going to end before now, and we'd all be eking out a terrible living in a post-apocalyptic wasteland.
Your task in this contest is to show what you think life will be like in the year 2108, a full century into our future. Will we finally get those flying cars that science fiction has been promising for so long? Will we have cybernetic implants that allow us to perform superhuman abilities? Will medical science allow us to alter and specialize our bodies to the point that we're barely even recognizable as being human any more? Or will we be slaves to a hostile alien race?
You may not use any existing fantasy/sci fi images as sources for this contest, whether from films, paintings or wherever. Your creation must be put together from mundane source photos. Historical photos (either from museums or recreationists) are allowable.
As fantasy art is rarely photographic in nature all images are "to be judged on consistent style not necessarily photorealism", the goal of the contest is to create cool art, not a hoax. As always, have fun, be creative, follow the guidelines please, and be careful to avoid using any cliches. You have an entire month to work on your entries so we're expecting something special!
