CONTEST DESCRIPTION
In this free contest, your task is to design a logo for Cruises Down Under, a travel company (specifically cruises).
The client is a small company located in Sydney, Australia. The design will appear on website, letterhead and business cards.
PRIZES
- The top entry that the client chooses will receive $100*.
- The top voting winner will get 100 credits.
CLIENT RULES
- No wording is required, company name is optional. However, please consider the length of the company name and only include it if it adds favorably to the design.
- The logo can contain up to 3 main colors, but you can use shades of each color in the logo. Green and gold/yellow (Australian colors) are NOT to be used together.
- Entries may contain gradients.
- The logo style must be modern.
- Your logo should represent freedom, happiness, sea, sunshine, ships, etc.. Think of a very relaxing vacation on a ship. A great deal of customers will be 45 year age group so the logo should not be too quirky or in-your-face. If particular objects are to be used they should be readily identifiable. Australian references are OK (i.e. Australian map).
- The client is open to symbol options. Logos that have a cruise ship as the major element are OK, but please be aware that there a LOT of companies that have this already and the logos all look the same (cruise ship with large bow and small stern - a sort of forced perspective). Examples of this can be found: ozcruising.com.au, easycruises.com.au, hollandamerica.com. The client prefers a creative logo without a cruise ship than a logo that looks like everyone else. The design should be clean (not to busy) and not cartoony.
- Generic nautical items (i.e. anchors, sails, spoked wheels, etc...) should not be used. No animals may be used.
- You may not display presentations of the logo (i.e. business cards, letterhead examples) directly in the image file that you upload as your entry. You may upload these to your media folder and link to them separately from your author comments. If you violate this rule, you risk disqualification.
- Any font may be used. Please upload your font to your corporate files area.
- Before entering this contest you must read this thread.
GENERAL RULES
- Please upload your vector file (.ai or .eps) or high resolution photoshop files with all layers and elements intact (.psd), to the corporate files attachment area at the time you submit an entry (you will be prompted after uploading your image).
- Do not enter slight variations of your logo as separate entries. Enter them as a single entry.
- Fancy background presentation is not allowed. Solid color backgrounds, that's it.
- Please leave some white space at the bottom of your entry so the worth1000 watermark doesn't overlap it.
- Any questions about what is desired by the client may be sent to corporate@worth1000.com.
- The client will be granted the full rights to all aspects of the submission of their choice as a work-for-hire in exchange for the prize mentioned above.
