In tonight's photoshop matchup we have a 4-Way contest featuring capriccio, Qofcheez, MasterGnu and exposed. They have chosen 'Colorization Tournament round 2: Team D ' as the theme for their match and the stakes are 1st and 2nd place advance to the third round.
The rules for this contest are thus: Welcome to the second round of the colorization tournament.
The rule of this game is thus: colorize this image (courtesy of doctormacro).
Your main goal in this contest is to create a realistic interpretation of what the supplied image would've looked like as a color photograph. You should strive to create an image that anyone would mistake for a real photo if they didn't know it was colorized. Realism and believability is the key words.
As such, any form of cropping, cloning, transformations or adding of new elements (both external sources or own drawings) is strictly forbidden.
The only editing you are allowed to do, except for the coloring, is to use overall adjustments/filters that apply to the whole image (curves, level, sharpening) and to selectively change the brightness and contrast of separate parts of the image. However, the intention of such changes should always be to get a realistic-looking image.
The winner and the runner up in this challenge will advance to the next round.
See this thread for exact tournament details.
