A young Tyranasaurus Rex calls for it's mother.

I used a photo of a fossilised T. rex skull as reference.

The main things I was trying to achieve with this image where: A nice looking eye, a revolting and fleshy mouth and tongue and some sub-surface scattering effects (where light shines through and is diffused by something like flesh, or a candle, and illuminated slightly from within)... this I attempted on the cheek and the under tongue area. I also wanted to try and make the teeth look semi translucent.

I worked at this image at 2500 pixels across... so here are some 100% crops of the eye and tongue/mouth areas

The references I used for the T-Rex are actually some of the first image-hits when you google "t rex".

Mindlay is a very intelligent boy. But he was frequently buggered
by his classmates, because he talk about dinosaurs all the time
and knows all about them.
One day Mindlay found a dinosaur egg and hatches it.
Now he's got a baby dinosaur growing up quickly. And, today, the boy
rides him and exacts revenge on those bugger bullies from school…

Not all dinosaurs were huge, this little guy had to be careful not to get stepped on. He did not roar but probably sounded more like a bird, Eeeep !!
