Whenever we have to learn something new, who do we turn to? Teachers. Not just school teachers, but drill sergeants, corporate trainers, driving instructors, camp counselors--name the field, and there are people out there to help us learn.

For this contest, we'd like you to write a story in which a teacher plays a critical role. Tell it from the learner's perspective--it doesn't have to be first person, but it has to be about the teacher.

The rules of the game are thus: Write a story from the learner's perspective in which an instructor plays a central role.

Keep in mind that profanity is not acceptable. All entries must be in accordance with our text rules and guidelines.

As always, quality is a must. You will have ten days for this contest, so make your submission count.

Word Limit: 900 words. (Word counts are important in Text contests; please be mindful of your word counts as exceeding them will lead to disqualification.)

Entries will be rated using the TG:Writers101 voting scale.

In order to enter this contest challenge, you must not have 2 or more Advanced trophies in Text, unless they were for Poetry challenge contests.

This is the first of three contests that will be used to qualify finalists in Worth's first beginning Text Tournament. If you are in the tournament, you may enter more than once, but only your best score from this contest will count.

You may enter whether or not you are signed up for the tournament.

Don't forget to vote on all of the entries in this contest!
