Gong Li loves Sun Wukong, the Monkey King.I used one ref of the Monkey King (3rd image). Gong Li's features though, are from memory, especially those of her performance in Curse of the Golden Flower. :)
Although I draw very detailed pen & ink drawings - "cartooning" has always been tough for me. BUT I got a Wacom Tablet this year, and what a difference it makes! Here is my method.
