I've always been intrigued by the painting "Girl with a Pearl Earring" by Vermeer. I tried to use it as inspiration for this self-portrait.

Only had colour adjustments, no photoshopping. The drops and smudges are from the sea spray on the filter. The tide came up while taking this and a good foot of the tripod was underwater and both my feet were soaking wet. View full to see the effects from the water on the ND Filter.

The lily and lily pads are floating on the water. The green and pink foliage is a reflection of what's growing on the far side of the pond. If you look closely, you can see ripples over the reflections.
