While children have some of the most traumatizing fears, they often can't fully express just *what* they are afraid of because they're too terrified to give an accurate description. Perhaps, you might even recall some childhood terrors of your own. Thinking back on it now, I used to jump out of my bed and hit the floor running whenever I'd have to use the bathroom during the night, followed by a giant leap onto the safe haven of my mattress afterward. My reasoning? I was afraid that something hiding under my bed would grab ahold of my ankles if I got too close.

For this contest, we want you to illustrate a childhood fear. We're setting an age limit of 13+ for this contest so you can take the theme to a dark place if you choose to. After all, most nightmares do occur in the dark.

The rules of the game are thus: In any style or medium, illustrate the theme "Childhood Fears" in accordance with Worth's illustration contest rules. NO PHOTO TRACING OR PAINTOVERS. LINK YOUR REFERENCES. As always, quality is a must. You'll have fourteen (14) days for this contest, so make your submission count.
