The rules for this contest are thus: Dungeons and Dragons (or Advanced Dungeons and Dragons for those of you who have been keeping up) is an incredibly popular fantasy roleplaying game that has been around since the 1970s. Over that time it has been populated with hundreds and hundreds of fantastic monsters such as the Bugbear, the Sahuagin, the dracolich and the Beholder.

Your task in this contest is to create an image of a fantastical creature from the Advanced Dungeons and Dragons game, or any other roleplaying game. Elves and other humanoids will be accepted as monsters (though it's probably in your best interest to do more than simply tweak a human's ear and call them an elf). If it is not a well known creature you might like to link to a description of it.

You may not use any fantasy/sci fi images as sources for this contest, whether from films, paintings or wherever. Your creature must be put together from mundane source photos.

As fantasy art is rarely photographic in nature all images are "to be judged on consistent style not necessarily photorealism", the goal of the contest is to create cool art, not a hoax. As always, have fun, be creative!, follow the guidelines please, and be careful to avoid using any cliches.
