This is an Advanced level contest
She entered the room like she owned the joint, which was fine by me. I'd seen her type before: she wanted something and I was her subject. Sure, she seemed innocent enough, but these kinds of dames will get your mug spread around the internet faster than you can say "image search". She lowered the lights, and before I could say a word, she drew her piece and shot me.
"My face!" I exclaimed.
"Don't worry, hon, I'll fix it in post."
Film Noir (protip: click this!) describes the typical dark crime dramas produced in the 40s and 50s. The signature look and feel of these works are as technical as they are storytelling. We want you to capture both.
Pay attention to the photographic key points of film noir: low key settings that utilize chiaroscuro and stark contrasts, canted frames, low angles, multiple planes, shadow patterning, and a dramatic sense of composition.
NOTE: Quality will be strictly enforced in this contest. So please bring us your best and don't be offended if your picture is disqualified.
