Well it should come as no surprise that my obsession with Alice in Wonderland has continued in this piece....I've tried to capture the emotions of insanity/madness, coupled with terrified and manic twitching due to his being perpetually late. This one was VERY fun to do. I started with a wire armature and sculpted him with Super Sculpy. His base, (a necessity due to his top heavy weight) Is made from an old DVD spindle! Please view full, as well as the alternate angles and the 3D turntable. closeup in the garden wide view 3D turntable
I decided to make a bird for this contest because I had no idea about polymer fur, but a faint idea about how to make feathers. Therefore I present you: the Great Horned Owl.Made of polymer clay, aluminium foil, silver coated wire, two plastic crystal thingies for the eyes and acrylic paint. And some glue because the tail feathers kept breaking...White backgroundBackWing detail
"Why is he gold?" you might ask. To that I would say, "Because my nieces used up all the glittery pink paint."
He's OUT!
What fun this was, although a bit of a last-minute rush!Good luck, opponents (but not too much :))
