CONTEST DESCRIPTION
In this free contest, your task is to design a logo for Dowley Security Systems. Infrastruct Security, Inc. is an electronic security and network integration contractor focused on protecting critical infrastructure facilities across the industrial, energy, transportation and petrochemical markets. Infrastruct distinguishes itself as a turn-key systems integrator that provides best-in-class design, installation and support services which assure its customers continuous compliance with rapidly evolving Department of Homeland Security codes and regulations. Critical Infrastructure is defined as those systems which are essential for the functioning of society and economy a petrochemical facilities, transportation, energy, telecommunications, water treatment, banking/financial etc.. The company has offices in Texas and Oklahoma so there is a heavy emphasis on energy industries.
The security systems they design and install include CCTV systems, cameras, DVRs, video analytics, access control (i.e. card readers, door key-pads, intercom systems), perimeter security (i.e. fencing), burglar alarms, etc.. While many systems are still hard-wired independent operating platforms, more are becoming wireless IP based, requiring extensive knowledge of network systems and IT. The industry is very technology-centric and can go beyond the typical security systems to more complex converted solutions systems which include biometrics (retina scanners, hand print scanners, etc..) and full body scanners/millimeter wave detectors (scanning for foreign objects on a human subject without X-rays, using millimeter wave detection). Their company strives to stay at the forefront of technology while applying proven business systems and processes that make the company a best in class security solutions provider.

They are re-branding through this logo contest. The old website will be completely redesigned and will incorporate the new logo.
The logo will be used on signage, business cards, website, letterhead, social media, company vehicles, uniforms, promotional products, forms and documents.
PRIZES
- The top entry that the client chooses will receive $500.
- The second entry that the client chooses will receive $450.
- The top voting winner will get 100 credits.
CLIENT RULES
- Logos must contain the words "Dowley Security Systems". This is not cAsE SeNsItIvE.
- The logo can contain up to 3 main colors, but shades of each color may be used. The client likes reds, blues, blacks and silvers, but they are not required. Be as creative as you need to be.
- Entries may contain gradients. The client prefers non-gradient logo's, but would like to see gradient variations as well.
- The logo style must be business professional. It should be very strong, bold, yet very simple. Their industry is technology-based so that should be reflected in the logo, but not obvious. Their target audience is male, 35 and up, security directors, facilities managers, operations managers, HSE (Health Safety Environmental) directors and C-level executives (CEO, COO, CSO).
- They provide security solutions so they want to make their clients feel safe. They want to invoke strength and protection in the logo.
- Anything that invokes safety and protection may be used. However, the logo should be kept as simple as possible so any symbols or icons used should be minimal. Some examples of logo's they like are FedEx, CBS, Nike, Apple, 3M, Google, Amazon; simple and recognizable.
- Nothing counter-intuitive to strength and protection may be used. No rainbows, bunnies or unicorns may be used.
- Font should be simple and bold. Easily seen, easy to print and very readable. Please upload your font to your corporate files area.
- The client prefers Illustrator vector files (.ai or .eps).

GENERAL RULES
- Please upload your vector file (.ai or .eps) or high resolution photoshop files with all layers and elements intact (.psd), to the corporate files attachment area at the time you submit an entry (you will be prompted after uploading your image).
- Do not enter slight variations of your logo as separate entries. Enter them as a single entry.
- Fancy background presentation is not allowed. Solid color backgrounds, that's it.
- Please leave some white space at the bottom of your entry so the worth1000 watermark doesn't overlap it.

- The client will be granted the full rights to all aspects of the submission of their choice as a work-for-hire in exchange for the prize mentioned above.
