This is painted with instant coffee so no excellent coffee was wasted. Since I was doing a coffee painting I wanted coffee to be my main subject. I think my design might look cute in a coffee shop.

First time painting with coffee. Water and coffee on watercolor paper.
Used the cheap stuff, Folgers classic decaf and Millstone Kona Coffee blend.

Part of the process photographed with a crappy camera.

Mixed coffee with wood glue and flour to get the texture right. Took a little experimentation, and ages to dry! For the milky mocha splash, I added a tiny amount of acrylic to the mix, just to lighten. After drying, I 'glazed' the piece with PVA.

Hope this was worth stinking my flat out for - I don't even like coffee!

This was really quite hard, but the smell while doing it was divine. 5 different shades of coffee used - a regular art brush plus a toothpick for his coat and a little sponge.
