On the shores of the planet Spore, in the land of Moorhsum, there live the Bisporus people. Ruled by their beloved Cranium Agarics IV, the royal mushroom elf king. No one knows his real age, but he is rumored to be at least 400 years old. Once a year they have a festival called the Puffball to honor the youngest of his children. This year it is his tiny elf daughter, Princess Baby Bella Magenta. All the Bisporus villagers are invited to partake in the festivities. Some of these traditions include the Butter Melt, the Slice and Dice, the Sauté and the favorite of all, the Salad Toss.Sources

I present to you a rare and virtually unknown kind of elves. They have unique thermo regulation (supposedly, from the times of the Ice Age) and, as the name goes, live high up in the mountains guarding their habitat from any intrusions by humans. Do not be offended, my dear fellows, they stay away from other elves too! Which explains why there are only few species left.
