FAQ for information on how to determine how many points you have.
This contest will test your ability at a very creative photographic technique. Depth-of-field involves having your background or foreground out of focus. This draws the attention to your subject which is in focus. In this contest you are to use your lens aperture to isolate your subject by making all of the area in front of and behind it blurred, while your subject and main point of interest is sharp, just as mated1976 did with his wonderfully conceived shot 'Shattered Blame for Broken Lives'.
Your task is to take a photograph where the subject is in focus but the foreground and background are not and you have used the technique of "depth-of-field". Remember, no blank backgrounds. The background must contain a subject or setting to give your main subject context.
