Size may be a bit small, but this was the original size it was done as. Actually my first canine realism :3 http://www.affenpinscher.com/Zoe-for-Zoe-page1.jpg That was my ref for color tones and head position....yeah, that turned out well.
I wanted to catch the plushyness of Cinni's wintercoat and thick hair inside the ears, contrasted with the very thin hair around the eyes. I felt a horse was a good subject because I also had the hair of the mane to work with. I was going for a bit of an oil painting look. This was made in Photoshop CS4.Refrence photo and 3 stages of the process:Refrence: http://tesseract.ca/images/Worth1000/CinniSubmission/1CinniRefrence.jpg Initial Sketch: http://tesseract.ca/images/Worth1000/CinniSubmission/2CinniSketch.gif Basic color blocking in: http://tesseract.ca/images/Worth1000/CinniSubmission/3CinniColorBlocking-in.gif Details and color variation starting to be added: http://tesseract.ca/images/Worth1000/CinniSubmission/4CinniColorBlocking-in2.jpg

My first attempt at painting a person. As always I am excited to get some feedback! My biggest trouble was getting a decent skin tone (that pink cast is not a product of the camera, she really does look a little over-tanned). And with the hair being the focus (or at least the reason for the painting!), I'm not quite happy with how it turned out.Acrylic on canvas board, 12x16 inches.
whats better than climbing? climbing on a chicks hair.
