For those of you living under a rock, the steampunk genre is a mix of fantasy and technology with a decidedly vintage flair. The idea involves taking old world technology (think steam-power, not electrical; wood and steel components instead of plastic or fiberglass, clockwork mechanics), and turning it into something fantastical and futuristic.
When one thinks of steampunk, those visions usually involve mechanical objects like rockets, robots, flying machines... manmade things of that sort. But what if elements from our natural world suddenly took on a steampunk flair? Bananas, for instance, might shed their skins and acquire intricate wooden peels with fancy clockwork mechanics. You might turn a knob to unpeel the thing... but why would you want to? It'd surely be too beautiful to eat. Why, just look at the gorgeous orca in our themepost by LunarRose... such a natural creature with unnaturally intricate and futuristicly vintage features. What an amazing sight it would be if the natural world became a haven of steampunk wonders!
The rules of the game are thus: Take any thing that occurs in nature -- animals, plants, fruit, vegetables, insects, etc. -- and steampunk it!
