Dr. Necessitor was told, "Your ideas and theories are ridiculous. You just don't have the brain power to be among the scientific elite." The brain power? He'd show them! He invented a machine whereby he could drain the brain power out of any living creature and transfer it to himself. Of course, it would drain his victims fatally. Therefore, he couldn't use humans-too risky. Primates were hard to come by. Dolphins have huge brains-but how to acquire one. He settled on reptiles. Of course, a small lizard would provide him only the tiniest brain boost. So he came up with a way of growing them to an immense size. Now he could really harness their brain power! In doing so, he found that he himself needed a bigger head and applied his growth techniques to his own head. It grew larger with each reptilian victim. One more specimen and he would have all the brain power he needed. There was a major scientific symposium the next morning and he planned to show off his accomplishments and rub it in the faces of those who had mocked him. He went to sleep with the smug knowledge of his impending redemption. Once he awoke the next morning, however, he found that his head had now grown so large that he could not lift himself out of bed and he missed the symposium and remained in obscurity.
