I put a bit of a manga spin on my illustration of the Snow Maiden (from Russian folklore).I painted her in Photoshop CS5, no references used. The snowflake jewelry and all the sparkles/snowflakes were created using brushes native to PS. I tried to create a skin tone that was very cool and fitting of a snow princess, but one that was not lifeless at the same time. I hope I achieved that goal. I really enjoyed working on this, and I'm actually quite pleased with the way she turned out (which is unusual for me, I am my own worst critic). As always, comments are greatly appreciated! I love the feeling, when it's snow everywhere, the windows are frosted and you can relax by the fireplace, sipping hot tea and enjoy the beauty of the snow and ice without beeing so cold =)
