Let fall the leaves upon the tinder fare
Of drying grass accepting leafy gift
To slumber until Spring's maternal care,
Now lying still, now once again adrift.
Come here, my love, to lie in leaf cascade
While 'round our heads they swirl like fairies lithe.
We'll prove our love as leaf platoons invade
The crisply chilling air in which we writhe.
When but the last leaf lies on bedded ground,
Then still among them lie we, love entwined,
While sharing warmth in cozy leaf surround,
And dream of lazing ever thus supine.
'Tween Summer's sun and Winter's icy stare,
'Neath naked branches we our hearts lay bare.

He lived among the dreams that time forgot,
A spirit being of another world.
'Til then of mortal passion he knew not -
But now, in love, both heart and wings unfurled.

Their lives entwined; a tragic work of art.
Her words they built a poisoned web of fears,
She laid her guilt upon his swollen heart,
And by her tomb he wept immortal tears.

So from the tattered angel evil tore
A wing of broken feathers; empty dreams.
His heart burned out like stars of nevermore -
The black horizon echoed with his screams.

Let nature heal your wounds and calm your rage,
Release you from your gilded earthly cage.

Twixt darkest earth and heaven’s light above
Thy misled spirit fell in troubléd storm.
I saw and raced toward thee, bringing love
To wrap thee in, perchance to keep thee warm.

What circumstance brought thee to my domain?
Methinks an angel from on high thou art.
My heartfelt longing is that thee remain
Entrapped within my joyful loving heart.

I also fell - in love with just one look
At thy pure soul, and crave to heal thy scar.
Thou art mine own angelic open book.
I am thine own refulgent shooting star.

Now blissfully in love we lie beside
Each other, where forever we’ll reside.

Spring flowers burst in colors bright from earth
Still scarred by winter's cold and ruthless hold.
The signs of life do welcome a rebirth
Of hopes and dreams and yearnings yet untold.

The flowers sway in summer breeze, counting
A season passing by. The dreams of spring
Are blooming full, now in their prime, mounting
Campaigns against the coming winter's sting.

The flowers wilt as summer fades upon
A cooling breeze. The memories remain,
Reminders of a brighter day. And on
The wind a hint of winter's pending reign.

The blooms are gone, killed by the chill of frost.
Dead petals fall, reminding what was lost.

The night's alive and magic fills the air;
The moonless darkness broken by the fire -
And drawn out of the necromancer's lair,
The power and the beauty of the pyre.

Majestic flames entwine in frenzied dance
'Cross canvas, shades of red and golden art,
Where spirits of the light meet in romance
Within the burning furnace of my heart.

But Devil's fingers walk destruction's path,
Without remorse from life the soul he takes.
An inferno of devastation's wrath,
Which leaves a blackened land that God forsakes.

And from the ashes now new hope is born -
His feathers shine with colours of the dawn.

The possibility of love’s too great
For me to waste upon the negative.
I’m only able to anticipate
The thought of having too much love to give.

Could it be possible for me to find
A truer love than written on a page?
A maiden who can love me for my mind
Releasing my poor heart from its dank cage.

But such a woman surely can’t exist
Where cities fall because of closing eyes.
I fear that I am never to be kissed
Unless I wear my usual disguise.

And so my folly may be but a jest,
Yet seeking satisfaction is my quest.

Obsidian and rutilated quartz
Suspended on a slender silver chain,
One ying, one yang, their energy supports
True balance as life's strength begins to wane.

For I'm too easily pulled off-center now:
The decades take their toll though we pretend
No silver frosts the dark hair at my brow,
No peril threatens that I can't transcend.

This amulet may seem a childish whim
Incapable of wielding healing power
But when my fears grow strong and vision dim,
It comforts me to touch it hour by hour.

The magic of the earth still pulses bright
In sable beads and crystals flecked with light.

Will I regret my days of misspent youth
When time comes to look back upon my life?
As beauty fades, I'm left with naught but truth:
Bitterness, envy, vanity and strife.
The moments have dragged endlessly each day.
Yet, when I turn, the many years have flown.
I realize now, I should have bid them stay.
For soon I'll be old and my children grown.
Each day I have left is but a treasure
When it is gone, it comes again no more.
Full or empty, I control the measure;
But no mortal hand can control the pour.
I must choose now, before my days are through.
To truly live, give each full day its due.
