This hallway, abandoned since 1971, held prisoners since 1829. The inmate population was expanding more rapidly than anticipated. The cell block was completed in 1831 and was the first in the prison to have a second floor. Notice the bars above blocking a potential shortcut for prisoners on the second floor.The image was desaturated, but was nearly black and white to begin with. A bit of grain was added for effect.
An old prison has fallen into 30 years of disrepair. It's a frightening place any time of the year.

This is an up-close and personal look at my new kitten Chloe. Halloween is a time for pumpkins, candy, witches, and of course - black cats. I love this photo because Chloe appears both evil and mysterious.
