I experimented a lot with different crops, but in the end decided to go with the least radical one, which shows all of the original scene.

I had to submit a small version, since the automatic resizing killed the picture.
Please have a look at the original, larger version!!

This is most definitely the most in depth illustration I have ever done. I'm not sure how many layers it ended up with, because I kept flattening it so my computer wouldn't die, but it had to have been at least 50 or 60.

Anyway...please, please view full or she will kick your butt.

I usually like lots of lines, but with this one I wanted to keep it simple. It's a little different than my original sketch, which had a dragon. Once I started going I liked the simple look and the clean lines Illustrator can give you.

I was coloring this and didn't like the way it was looking. I threw out the base color layer and was surprised to discover that I liked the way it looked with just the Shadow layer. It has a nice washed out look to it.
