I can't think of anything more desperate than a person who is forced by whatever circumstances to rely on the kindness of others to live.

I really need a holiday . . .

It's very rough, I think I got in a little over my head. I wanted to do it in color. I had the image in my head and as I started drawing it I realised how much work I was making for myself and the time was ticking down for the contest. Anyhow, this is the final result ... I wish I had more time to refine the image and make it cleaner. Most of the time I spent on it was just filling in the black and when I realized there were only three hours left to submit I ended up rushing.

Anyhow, the inspiration (besides the contest theme) was the old vignette images I remember from my old D&D books growing up. Liek a tiny cut scene from some greater adventure. This guy though .. I think he's screwed.

Sorry I was running out of time to paint this. Great contest, I had a lot of fun drawing this :)

My 2nd Illo entry, regular PSer. I actually put pencil/pen in hand on this one! But of course, I had to get it into PS to get the final result I was seeking. Full view is nice.
